Our post-graduate program in market research is an 11-month residential course at the Northpoint Centre of Learning in Khandala. Nielsen designs and teaches the entire curriculum. In addition to this residency, students can partcipate in four internship opportunities.
To me, Nielsen equals growth. The opportunities I’ve found have always been two levels above my current role. I am constantly challenged and pushed to grow as a problem solver. Nielsen focuses on developing best-in-class researchers and business leaders.

The Finance track of our Emerging Leaders Program is dedicated to developing and investing in our next generation of finance leaders. Through this two-year program, you’ll gain exposure to a number of corporate finance responsibilities at both the corporate and business-unit level, including financial planning and analysis, investment decision-making, controllership, risk management, and treasury operations, among others. The program’s structure combines challenging coursework on financial topics, professional development and hands-on work experience.
Emerging Leaders in our Finance track have several rotation options. Here are examples of opportunities you’ll find with each team:
- Asia Financial Services Operational Controlling team: Prepare and consolidate monthly and quarterly financial reporting, support leaders in maintaining internal controls and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) documentation, help with monthly account reconciliation review and approval, assist in ensuring day-to-day accounting transactions are processed timely, and support project teams across the region related to key controllership initiatives.
- India Financial Planning & Analysis team: Manage all expense analysis and reporting, prepare and consolidate monthly and quarterly financial reporting, and provide support to the client service and finance teams through ad-hoc work.
With this program, you can experience different areas of finance, as well as different teams within Nielsen. Rotations begin in Mumbai, India. International opportunities are common but not guaranteed. Participants are expected to be open and flexible. Following the program, participants often explore opportunities with our Corporate Audit Staff or Senior Analyst roles within the business.
Having worked in multiple organizations, I can definitely vouch for the Financial Leaders Program (FLP) as a truly “global” program. In less than two years, I have gained experience in four different verticals of finance across three countries. With the FLP, you don’t wait to find the leader you believe in; you become one!
