early career programs – europe
The Finance track of the Emerging Leaders Program is dedicated to developing and investing in our next generation of finance leaders. Through this two-year program, you’ll gain exposure to a number of corporate finance responsibilities at both the corporate and business-unit level, including financial planning and analysis, investment decision-making, controllership, risk management, and treasury operations, among others. The program’s structure combines challenging coursework on financial topics, professional development and hands-on work experience.
Emerging Leaders in our Finance track have several rotation options. Here are examples of opportunities you’ll find with each team:
- Lead Consolidation team: Manage the business-as-usual consolidation activities for the total lead markets in Europe, lead the monthly controls validation, prepare and consolidate monthly and quarterly financial reporting, and provide additional support through ad-hoc work.
- Global Tech Ops Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team: Be responsible for zero-based budgeting and operational analytics, manage the global enterprise risk management process, support recurring central FP&A processes, and tackle multiple ad hoc projects.
- Growth Financial Planning & Analysis team: Manage the weekly forecasting process for the entire growth group, support the month end financial closing and analysis for growth headquarters, and support ad hoc analysis on the profit and loss (P&L) statement/operations review preparation.
With this program, you can experience different areas of finance, as well as different teams within Nielsen. Rotations begin in Europe. International opportunities are common but not guaranteed. Participants are expected to be open and flexible. Following the program, participants often explore opportunities with our Corporate Audit Staff or Senior Analyst roles within the business.

As an emerging leader, I had the opportunity to naturally develop the confidence to manage people all around the world, the courage to make tough decisions in hard times, the compassion to listen my team’s needs, and last but not the least, the sense of integrity to guide me throughout my career.
