ABOUT THIS JOB

The Business Development Director is charged with growing the penetration of Nielsen Connect’s CPG industry leading solution portfolio of products and services by acquiring new clients and expanding our already existing client relationships. This team is the growth engine of the company and is leading Nielsen’s digital transformation into a top sales driven organization. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive improved relationships with key client contacts across all areas of the client, increase client penetration, and improve awareness of Nielsen products and services to drive increased revenue sales growth. Be a true sales “hunter” to drive revenue.

  • Collaborate with all cross-functional practice area partners to ensure Total Client revenue goals are achieved via business development sales strategy execution

  • Persuade clients to consider Nielsen to become their contractual primary supplier for POS/RMS data and related services via formal RFP processes

  • Work all deals through the formalized Nielsen Enterprise Sales Process, and properly document progress and status in Salesforce.com

  • Manage the overall client relationship and drive high customer satisfaction and willingness to recommend Nielsen to others in the industry.

 

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU

You enjoy leading customer relationships and working with syndicated data sets and analytic solutions across large matrixed organizations.  You seek to educate your clients on various areas across the Nielsen product suite (Sales Effectiveness, Retail Effectiveness, Brand Effectiveness, Technology Platforms) and are looking to create fully integrated solutions to solve your client’s most pressing business issues. You’re comfortable with learning, using and presenting the benefits of the industry’s latest cloud based technology and analytic solutions.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-10+ years of experience in the CPG industry and/or related sales, category management, market research/analytics space, including POS/HH Panel data

  • Bachelor's degree; Master’s degree a plus

  • Consultative client skills and Innovative problem solving skills

  • Ability to write and deliver effective proposals

  • Proven and quantifiable overachievement of sales and profitability objectives; strong pipeline management skills with a track record of driving wins and customer satisfaction

  • Proven skills managing selling cycles from four week to six months in duration

  • Working and pragmatic knowledge of various syndicated data offerings; ability to translate data knowledge into tactical and strategic solution frameworks

  • Ability to drive to local clients across the Northeast (NJ, NY and CT)
